Abstract

Isolated electrically stimulated papillary muscle of the guinea-ping which was partially depolarized vith 19mM/L potassium Tyrode¢¥s solution, was excised for the evaluation of phosphodiesterase inabitors. The experiments led to following results:
1) Theophylline exerts dose-dependant positive inotropic effects between concentration of 25 mg/L o 800 mg/L.
2) Xanthine exerts dose-dependant effect between concent ration of 10-6 M/L to 2.7 x 10¢¥ M/L.
3) Amrinone exerts dose-dependent manner between concentration of 2.5 x 10-6 M/L to 8 x 10¢¥5
4) Sulrnazole exerts dose-dependacy between concentration of I mg/L to 64 mg/L.
5) With low dose, papaverine promotes the contractility but inhibits the contractile force above
he concentration of 16mg/L.
These results indicate that all phosphodiesterase inhibitors exerts positive inotropic effects in guinea )ig papillary muscle.
